Residents of Niagara-on-the-Lake welcome the opening of the new St. Catharines acute-care hospital in Spring 2013, to be located at the NHS healthcare complex, and serving patients in their community. The new hospital, with a capacity of 375 beds, replaces the NHS St. Catharines General and Ontario Street sites, combining acute care and outpatient services in one location. As well, new and expanded regional services, including the Walker Family Cancer Centre, Cardiac Catheterization and specialized Mental Health inpatient services will be available at the new complex.
