The Niagara Health System (NHS) is Ontario's largest multi-site hospital amalgamation, with approximately 800 beds. A wide range of inpatient and outpatient clinics and services are provided at our seven sites, serving 434,000 residents across the 12 municipalities making up the Regional Municipality of Niagara. Each year the NHS provides care to approximately 32,000 in-patients and treats more than 195,000 patients at our Emergency Departments and Urgent Care Centres.
The people of the NHS are committed to making continued improvements to the quality of care for everyone living in Niagara. It’s time to upgrade our facilities to maintain and increase the standard of care and bring much-needed services closer to home so Niagara’s citizens can receive as much care within the region as possible.
To develop urgently-needed new facilities and improve existing Niagara Health System facilities, the Niagara Health System Foundation, working in partnership with each of the local site foundations, is raising $40 million through the It’s Our Time Campaign.

The It’s Our Time Campaign is supporting renovations and equipment for existing facilities, and the development of new facilities and equipment to enhance regional healthcare programs related to cancer, cardiac, chronic kidney and mental health diseases.
The Niagara-wide Campaign Cabinet is structured into three teams of volunteers, each raising funds for the new Regional Walker Family Cancer Centre and Regional Cardiac Centre, new equipment at their respective sites related to cancer, cardiac, chronic kidney and/or mental health treatment, and to make improvements to the sites within their respective areas.
Building on the history of philanthropy established by our partner foundations, we:
- enhance community well-being and patient care in the Niagara Region through fund development
- provide donor-centered opportunities for philanthropy
- commit to an environment of collaboration and mutual respect with all stakeholders
will achieve a legacy of improved patient care through the region-wide campaign
. . . It’s Our Time!
